Preston Auto Group team with Tim Lamb Group to complete purchase of Superior Toyota in Erie, PA

New Castle-based auto group purchases Superior Toyota in Millcreek Township

New Castle-based Preston Auto Group has purchased the Superior Toyota dealership at 5615 Peach St. in Millcreek Township.

The purchase is expected to be finalized on Nov. 2, when the Superior Toyota dealership will be known as Toyota of Erie.

"We have 10 stores and our biggest brand is Toyota," said Bobby Preston, majority owner and president of Preston Auto Group, which has 10 other dealerships in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Bobby Preston, his brother, Kevin Preston, and their business partner, Shane Lanigan, purchased Superior Toyota.

Superior Toyota will be the Preston Auto Group's third Toyota dealership, joining Preston Toyota of New Castle and a Toyota dealership in Boardman, Ohio.

"We've done well with Toyota and we were looking to expand to the Erie market," Preston said. "They (Superior Toyota) do a very good job and have a high level of customer service. They have a strong reputation in the area and they have an amazing service department and body shop. Our expertise is selling Toyotas and I think we'll be able to get a lot of inventory."

Preston declined to disclose the purchase price.
