The Performance Columbus Family of Dealerships has added another automotive dealership to its group.

The company said Wednesday that it has acquired Bobby Layman Cadillac GMC near Lancaster.

The group already includes Honda Marysville, Honda Marysville Motorsports, Toyota Direct, and Performance Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM in Columbus and Delaware.

The Bobby Layman dealership has 40 employees in sales, finance and service. The new owners say they want to expand the operation, including a partnership focusing on workforce development with the nearby Eastland-Fairfield Career Center.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bobby Layman died in 2014 at the age of 82.

Beyond the dealership near Lancaster, he also owned Bobby Layman Chevrolet on the West Side. Actor Mark Wahlberg bought that dealership in 2018.
