Landers Auto Group buys Crossroads Chevrolet

By Jordan Larimore The Joplin Globe Nov 8, 2018

The Steve Landers Auto Group has purchased and taken over operations of what was the Crossroads Chevrolet and Cadillac dealership at 4630 E. 32nd St. in Joplin.

Now called Landers Chevrolet Cadillac of Joplin, General Manager Bill Ryan said the company takes over with a simple philosophy: "We’re just firm believers in taking care of the customer. Not just during the sale but after the sale."

The deal closed on Oct. 22, Ryan said, and the company is going about bolstering the business's reputation with the public.

Landers Chevrolet Cadillac of Joplin is the automotive group's first move into Missouri, Ryan said. Landers is based in Arkansas and has moved into Oklahoma but doesn't have any other locations in Missouri. Ryan said the dealership's cars will range in price from $4,000 to $100,000 and that it specializes in secondary financing, or lending to people with lower credit ratings.

Landers will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The inventory can also be accessed at landerschevroletcadillacjoplin.com.

Ryan said the company is confident it can succeed in any market and that there was nothing necessarily specifically attractive about the Joplin market.

"Not so much the vicinity itself," Ryan said. "It's just no matter where we go, we just sell a bunch of cars at a small profit. We kind of use that Amazon theory behind it, and we sell a lot more cars than a lot of people."

The new dealership will also offer normal services to vehicles in addition to sales. Landers Chevrolet Cadillac of Joplin can be reached at 417-768-7900.
