One of Greater Cincinnati’s largest auto dealers has purchased a longtime dealership.

Jake Sweeney Automotive Group has acquired Bill DeLord Autocenter, a dealership in Lebanon that sells new Buick GMC and Cadillac products as well as used vehicles. Located at 917 Columbus Ave., the dealership has been in business since 1990. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Owner Bill DeLord announced his retirement and the transition of his business Thursday in a letter to customers:

“With over 100 years of service to the area, the Jake Sweeney Automotive Family, under the guidance of your new dealer, Greg Sweeney, will provide the same great service you are accustomed to and will grow the business for all of our current customers and employees.”

DeLord said he will remain with the business as a consultant for an indefinite period.

Founded in 1917 and headquartered in Springdale, Jake Sweeney Automotive Group is the fifth-largest auto dealership in Greater Cincinnati, with 10,827 vehicle sales in 2018, according to Courier research. This acquisition brings the total number of dealership locations to 11.
