McCormick Motors in Pigeon has a new owner, who hopes to keep up the same kind of quality service the dealership is known for.
McCormick’s new owner is Joe Ricci, who officially took over on Sept. 13 and the dealership is now known as Joe Ricci’s McCormick Motors. Ricci has owned Marlette Chrysler Dodge Jeep & Ram for the past eight years along with four used car dealerships in the Detroit suburbs.
New general manager Robert Prater said that no changes have been made to the dealership, as the entire staff has been retained, and the new owners wants to grow the inventory of used vehicles offered, which is currently around 30.
“We’re going to continue carrying 30 at all times,” Prater said. “Hopefully that will grow into a larger number.”
McCormick Motors will still sell the Chevrolet, Buick, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram brand vehicles it already does.
Previous owner Dave McCormick decided to sell the dealership so he could retire. The dealership had been in the McCormick family for several generations beforehand.
Prater said Ricci is looking to bring good things to the Pigeon community and that he plans on staying around for the long-haul.
“We plan on being here forever,” Prater said. “This is not a quick in and out. We want to offer the same family experience that Dave did.”
