Mark Wahlberg isn’t averse to sequels.
Alongside his business partner Jay Feldman, the actor and businessman has acquired a fourth Columbus area auto dealership. Jack Maxton Chevrolet will be rebranded as Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet of Worthington.
“The people of Columbus have been good to us,” Wahlberg said in a news release. “This latest acquisition just strengthens our roots and deepens our bond with the market.”
The group last month closed deals for two former Haydocy dealerships on the city’s west side, which are now Mark Wahlberg Buick GMC and Mark Wahlberg Airstream & RV. They purchased the former Bobby Layman Chevrolet dealership, now Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet, in 2018.
The new addition is the first away from the West Broad Street cluster that Wahlberg and Feldman amassed. The dealership is at 700 E. Dublin-Granville Road. It has 10 acres of land, a 60,000-square-foot showroom, service and parts building with 40 service bays.
Longtime Jack Maxton owner Jeff Mauk said the Maxton name had been on that dealership for 90 years and that the business is now in good hands going forward.
The dealership acquisitions were represented by Tim Lamb at the Tim Lamb Group in Columbus.
The four Mark Wahlberg dealerships are hiring for several sales and service positions in Columbus.
